Volunteers needed... Gain some on-the-job experience

Reach to T.E.A.C.H. Project Reach to Teach, Encourage, And Cultivate Hope (for our children) I am directing a very large effort to create an interactive, educational website. It is entirely a volunteer effort, but will (I believe) become widely enough known that experience here could help you get that paying job you are looking for. It is an educational website geared toward the youth of our nation. I have seen several websites that cover an issue that our country's children need to know about, but never one site that covers all of the issues. I want that to change. I would like to create a website that has everything they need in one place, in easy-to-understand thorough articles. Within a few days, I will have an outline posted in HTML form on a free web hosting company. And sorry for all the pop-ups that will inevitably be there. For now I will include a basic outline of what I intend to do here. I am going to need the help of programmers to build chat servers, forums, interactive material, and a few other things for the website. If you would like to help, or would like information before I post another message with the link to the outline you can E-mail me at [email protected]. A few of the areas I plan on covering: Peer pressure and bullies Family (abuse, family violence, adoption, pregnancy, marriage, divorce) School Gangs Drugs (synthesis, interaction with body, chemical formulas, short and long term effects, laws) Sex and Pregnancy (methods of safe sex, jailbait - know if you're in an illegal relationship, rape, contraception) Preparing to move out Money (budgeting, jobs, savings and checking accounts) Buying a house Buying a car Insurance Retirement plans - start now Finding a job Health issues Career planning Safety (at home, at work, in the car, in a sexual relationship, on the internet) Rights and future of our youth (how to fight for rights and a secure future for the youth of our nation Unique or worthwhile features for the website: "People and Places" section - The people and places section will be the most unique and one of the most important features of the website. It will have a listing of important names and numbers for every state, county, and city in the US that will cooperate and provide the needed information. The users will be able to navigate to their state, county, and city and find information (name, address, phone no.) for police, fire, medical, hospitals, City Hall, libraries, law libraries, permit offices, rec centers, parks, schools, alternative schools, school board, superintendent, Welfare, TWC, courts, jails, drug treatment facilites, location and time of self help or support groups, adoption agencies, DNA testing facilities (for drug, disease, pregnancy, paternity, etc.), and many other things. Anything a particular city would like to have added will be included. I realize this is going to be a huge effort, but I do intend to get it accomplished. Chat Rooms and Bulletin Boards - one general and one for every topic covered by the site Pages with voice interaction for areas that are geared toward people who can't read well or even at all (young children, children with disabilities, etc.) Interactive educational games - This feature will be added later, or possibly not even at all. Money for software, and the effort involved pose problems for an entirely volunteer effort. Age restricted viewing - if a particular subject is inappropriate for a certain age group, it will be restricted by parental control programs (i.e. NetNanny) or at least have a PICS rating A few others that will be listed in my next message posting. If you have any questions, or would like to be a part of this effort contact me at [email protected], or post a reply here.
