Subdomain

Question

Hi all If my website is hosted using IIS at http://www.mydomain.com I want to make a subdomain for every user. So a user 'BillGates' signs up and automatically my code creates http://billgates.mydomain.com Is this even possible? Any pointers on how to do this? I'd be using ASP.NET with C# Thanks

Hi I doubt if it is really possible subdomains are basically a different instance to the domain pointing mostly to a different DNS than the main domain but saying that you can do that in you IIS at will say www.mydomain.com points to c:/Inetpub/wwwroot and say you need a subdomain called abc.mydomain.com then you can create a directory in C:/Inetpub/wwwroot/abc and setting up the directory for that address.
