StatusBar.. Parent and Child Forms

Question

Does anyone know how to access the panels located on the Main Form(Parent) when a Child form is active?? By using: this.MdiParent.Controls[0] it returns that it is a status bar... and it tells me how many panels the panels collection contains... But i cannot access the panels... HELP!!! Much appreciation
