Somthing Similar to Hyperterminal

Hello,

I am lookin for some source code to study on program that is simliar to Hyperterminal.

See what I am tring to do is make a program that will automatic program a BT907 Display Timer made by IDX. I have been able to make a make a program that opens hyperterminal  and then automates the commands, based on what was information that was inputed before hand. This was working fine, until IDX decided to change their firmware squences and then intermix them all together. Also just making the custom cable and configuring hyperterminal is all IDX was willing to share. The rest i had to figure out.

So if anyone know of a open source program that i can study or might be able to help with with commincation back and forth to a ComPort I would greatly appericate it.
