Read TOC from lead-in of CD with DeviceIOControl

Hey.

I'm trying to see if I can read the TOC from the leadin of a CD with DeviceIOControl.
I don't want to use the IOCTL_CDROM_READ_TOC function code though.
So, is there a way to manually read the lead-in (also to get CD-TEXT from the CD, which is also stored in there) ?
