RDLC reports and word templates

Question

Hi all I have a question if anyone is willing to answer :-) We are creating windows based application in C# and we have precreated word files for forms. Is there any way to transfer word formatting as part of report in C# windows based application? Only way I could find so far was involving taking screenshot od word form and then setting it as rdlc background but image is all blurry and low quality. Thanks in advance.

I am still not sure what you need to do. So please excuse me if my suggestions are not relevant. You could save the Word files as HTML then show them in a WebBrowser control. I admit that I am not familiar with RDLC files enough to be sure how to do that but I hope it is worth investigating. There is probably a way to show the Word document in the RDLC more directly but I don't know what it is; I hope someone else can help you.

Reason is purely design of rdlc. Thing is I have that word files that have rich formatting and were used as filling forms now I need same design in my rdlc report with custom data fields pulled from db. I cannot afford spending time with manually designing each report to be consistent with looks of word files and was hoping that there is an easier way to just copy/paste text and formatting from word. Thanks.

I think it depends on whether there is a reason why you must show the Word file in a RDLC. Is there a reason why you must use a RDLC?
