Input control and web page

Question

I have a control witch I populate with date using Web Calendar control and JavaScript. Now, I want to do something else, but I'm not able to pick up the value of that control on the server. Anyone has any explanation? I guess, when web page make call to server, it cleans this value. How can I keep it?

C# always refers to the ID and javascript can refer to both but the old ASP used the Name parameter. Confussed yet? Lee

The problem was that id and name were not hte same. Thanks

I guess if you put runat=server it'll change the ID of that control. Check it (ID) from the html source. ( Hmm you have different name and id... I don't remember which one you should use here. Try setting them to be the same. But if it works now it should work with server controls too ) Sorry can't try it myself right now and thus can't give better hints later.

this is on the page it-self. Now in the DatePicker.aspx I have: string strjscript = @ ; strjscript += window.opener. + HttpContext.Current.Request.QueryString[formname] + .value = ' + Calendar1.SelectedDate.ToShortDateString() + ';window.close();; strjscript = strjscript +  ; Literal1.Text = strjscript; What am I doing wrong?

runat=server shouldn't prevent the calendar working. How do you insert the text into textbox?

I tried runat=server but in that case field doesn't get populated with information from the Calendar control. I would prefer using web controls but the only this that worked so far is that control. If you have any other idea i would be grateful

Try putting a hidden field on the page and populate it on the onpropertychange event this is then passed back to the server and you can then repopulate the textbox from it after. I hope this helps. Lee
