How to count the data in sql server using csharp code?

how to Count my data in sql server using csharp?

for example i have a column Name and Votes, i want that if my button which handle the column name by pressing it and stored it into the Column Name and it automatically Count and store to the coulumn Votes on how many times the user pressed that button.
