How To Check The DropDown list

Hi Every One

i would like to know is there any way to check the drop down list after binding data to drop down for binding data i am using below code

        dr = cmd.ExecuteReader();
        ddlProject.DataSource = dr;
        ddlProject.DataTextField = "RefNo";
        ddlProject.DataValueField = "RefNo";
        ddlProject.DataBind();

after this code i have check whether drop down list get the data or not
