how do i make my function wait for user interaction?

Hello im new here to C# forums. i have a function which i need to run and then wait for the user to enter some data in a text box and hit the sumbit button before continueing its execution. Can any help me out with this? Thank you. joshu

Another way to do it would be to run the method in a different thread which would allow the method to wait while you enter and hit submit. However this approach is in my opinion overkill.

You will actually have to then have two functions. One will do the work up untill the point where the user needs to place some input. The second will get fired by the event handler of the button. If you wanted you could try another approach (not sure if this will fit into your solution). Have a single function and when you need input Show a new form (modal) with the text box (public) and button (shared). As the user hits Submit hide the form (do not destroy the object) and in your original function you can retrieve the text of the textbox on the second form. Once you have the information you can then destroy the form. Hope this helps.
