Question

Has anyone come across an error message that is similar to the one in the Subject box - and how did you rectify it please? It came up when I tried to run a program to create a Web Form. The program should be right, as it is from a training course and is the one that was already completed for me by the course team. Thanks, Martyn.

Yes you've cracked it this time sailorfoley! Thanks very much - I had long since given up and moved on but I've just gone back and tried what you said and it was very satisfying not to get that blooming error message anymore! The developer was an older version than the web server as you've correctly guessed. Regards Martyn.

Change these lines that are referenced in your web.config file: Line 68: Line 69: Line 70: Line 71: to this : Line 68: Line 69: Line 70: Line 71: i.e. take out the System.Web and the comma before it and it should be ok. Hope this helps. It looks like your using an old version of the framework either on your web server or on your development machine. If this is the case try upgrading both to a similar version and all should be ok.

Thanks sailorfoley but unfortunately it hasn't. Under References the project already has System.Web and System.Web.Services. The error is still the same. I tried changing user to SYSTEM in the processModel section of the Machine.Config file with similarly little success. Any other ideas? In Visual Studio.Net right click your project and select the Add Reference menu. In the box that then appears on screen select System.Web This should solve your problem.
