disable sound output

Question

Hello, I'm looking to write something that will prevent the computer from making any sound from the sound card.

I think that it may involved a way to write some dll for windows (xp) or something like that.

 

Heard it call hooking.

 

Any bosy have a sample code or an article explain how to do it?
