DataSet Filteration

Question

Hello Is it possible to store the database records in the Dataset and than filter the same records without reconnecting to the database . Example I have a dataset which connects to the Remote Oracle database and loads some data. Later I need to give the customer a option where by he can filter the records in the dataset without connecting to the Oracle Server. Since to connect the remote Oracle Server and process data is quite time consuming.

You can use DataView which has some filtering (for displaying in DataGrid) or Select() method of DataTable. Unfortunately Select() returns DataRowCollection which must be loaded to the DataTable to see it.

try to create a new datatable with the results that the client is looking for. Not sure if this will work if the client will be updating the data.....but it will work for displaying purposes.
