copying files from local to remote computers

Question

hello buddies...
                     i have devlop a application in ASP NET 2.0 ,which copyies the specified source folder to a specifies destination  folder with in LAN network..now i want to do the same for the remote machine as well..but wehn i provide the ip address of particular machine..it throws error..
  pls suggest which way6 i can do this
