Can this be used in 2005?

I have been using string Quantity = ((TextBox)(e.Item.FindControl("Quantity"))).Text; in version2003 to get the value from items retrieved in the datagrid.But this does not work in version2005.The error msg is "...does not contain a definition for 'Item'".Can somebody please help.............................Thanks................
