Basic Animation/Graphics in VB.NET 2003

Hello people,

I needed some urgent help. I have to produce a program in VB.NET 2003 that has some animation and because I am not very good at VB I was hoping some people could help me out.

For example, if a piece of hardware is a hard-disk drive, I could use a photo of the inside of the drive looking down on the disk as a base and then use graphics/animation programming techniques to show how the disk rotates and how the read/write head(s) move; this could be accomplished by drawing arrows in the appropriate places and then moving them to create a simple animation effect.

I was thinking more like having a few buttons and give the user full control, so they can just click a button and some text appears and have animated arrows etc.

Above I have just shown an example but I will be designing the animation for a processor and how they connect to a particular motherboard.

Basically my mail purpose of this program is to show my skills in VB.NET using graphics/animation programming.

Could people please give me some hints and tips to do this, and point me to some good websites, where source codes are given?

I have used this web site
http://www.codeproject.com/ but had no joy this time round.

Thanks in advanced.
