A new starter! (with questions)

Question

Hi I am a new starter with asp.net and c#. I have coded a simple page using a code behind file. I have used a server control and wired up the page_load method event in the c# file. In the page_load method I have tried to set the property of the Label text. When the page is displayed the label is blank. My question is can I not set the label text property in the page class load method? Thanks. Mark

selected the control in IDE then in the propery panel.you will set the style very easy

Yes that works now. But let me get this straight the Page_Load method called by the event wireup for OnInit does not execute code unless it is within this condition?? How is this?? I have another question regarding styles in asp dotnet. How do I achieve the dotnet styles? such as the fading colour headers similar to those used on this forum. I understand the tranditional css can be used and loaded using the style element as has been since the beginning of time but are there additional capabilities for styles in dotnet and what about web server control styles etc.? You have to put the Label.Text blank code only in initialization of page using the if (!Page.IsPostBack) question if you don't use this condition the page makes the clean of label every post back to server. private void Page_Load(object sender System.EventArgs e) { //Put here initialization code if (!Page.IsPostBack) { Label1.Text = ; } } ... //Assign value of Label from code ... Label1.Text = Your value; ... Or you can assign the value of the Label in HTML and avoid the clean in the Page_Load event. Hope it helps.
